For the Dough:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm milk 110°F
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 large egg
For the Chocolate Filling:
- ½ cup unsalted butter softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips
For the Chocolate Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 –3 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir until combined.
Knead for 5–7 minutes until dough is smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Make the Chocolate Filling:
In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cinnamon into a smooth paste.
Assemble the Rolls:
Roll out dough into a 14x9-inch rectangle.
Spread the chocolate filling evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top.
Roll dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 even rolls.
Place in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and let rest for 15 minutes.
Make the Chocolate Glaze:
Mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.
