Ingredients
  

- For the Meatloaf:

  • - 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 80/20
  • - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • - 1/4 cup whole milk
  • - 1 large egg
  • - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

- For the Philly Cheesesteak Filling:

  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1 small onion sliced
  • - 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • - 1/2 cup mushrooms sliced, optional
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 6 slices provolone cheese

- For the Topping:

  • - 1/4 cup ketchup
  • - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • - 1/2 teaspoon mustard

Instructions
 

- Prepare the Philly Cheesesteak Filling:

  • - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • - Sauté onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using) until softened.
  • - Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool.

- Make the Meatloaf Mixture:

  • - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • - In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.

- Assemble the Meatloaf:

  • - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • - Press half of the meat mixture into a loaf shape.
  • - Layer 3 slices of provolone cheese, followed by the cooled veggie mixture.
  • - Top with the remaining provolone slices.
  • - Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges.

- Add the Topping & Bake:

  • - Mix ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard in a small bowl.
  • - Spread over the top of the meatloaf.
  • - Bake for 50-60 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 160°F/71°C).

- Rest & Serve:

  • - Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  • - Serve warm with mashed potatoes or a side salad.
