Ingredients

  • - 4 large russet potatoes cut into fries
  • - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • - 1 teaspoon paprika
  • - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • - 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • - 1 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • - 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • - 1 cup nacho cheese sauce store-bought or homemade
  • - 1/4 teaspoon turmeric for color, optional

Instructions

Preparing the Potatoes

  • Choose Russet potatoes for the best results. They're high in starch, making them crispy.
  • Soak the strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes.

Frying to Perfection

  • Heat a lot of oil in a large pot or Dutch oven to 350°F. Fry the potato strips in batches until they're golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.

Seasoning the Nacho Fries

  • In a large bowl, mix the hot fries with Taco Bell nacho fries seasoning. Toss them gently to coat them evenly. Serve the seasoned fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces, like nacho cheese or sour cream.
